Synopsis of Bidaai DVD

Parvati (Durga Khote) loses her husband but what makes her pain bearable is her beloved son Sudhakar (Jeetendra). But very soon she is separated from him too when he leaves to study in the city, where he falls in love with Padma (Leena Chandavarkar), the daughter of the city's wealthiest businessman Seth Dharamdas (Madan Puri). Padma reciprocates but her father objects to the match. So the couple get married and run away to Sudhakar's village. Parvati is overjoyed to get her son back, and welcomes her daughter-in-law, not knowing the spoilt rich girl will become the cause of a second separation from her son. Unable to bear Padma's behaviour, Parvati has to ask Sudhakar to leave. As they do Sudhakar makes a vow to make his wife realize what she has done.

Bidaai is the story of how Sudhakar reforms Padma. Apart from being a huge commercial success that won Durga Khote a Filmfare Award, Bidaai proved to be a milestone in Jeetendra's acting career and his personal life. Jeetendra and Leena Chandavarkar were already a very popular pair in the sixties and early seventies and this was one more success notched up by them. Bidaai, yet another silver jubilee hit from Prasad Productions, had the popular song "Kabhi Khole Na Tijori Ka Taala"
