Neeraj Mehta is in a financial crunch. He has put his last resource into his business. His son Abhi silently loves Divya who is not even aware of his existence. As his father, Abhi is also an honest straight forward, human being. He firmly believes that Divya and he are destined for each other - and it happens. Abhi and Divya fall in love and decide to get married.

Neeraj opposes this - not because he does not approve of Divya ( on the contrary, he is impressed by her) but he believes both Abhi and Divya are young and should establish themselves, settle down before thinking of getting married.

Both the families agree to wait since any case Divya is going away for 6 months to another town. This would help cement thos bond and marriage can follow. No formal engagement is made.

Divya goes away. This upsets her best friend Saakshi - girl from a broken home moves from bay to bay in search of a husband , a home. Divya is here sole support and crutch. She asks Abhi to look after Saakshi in her absence.

Neeraj gets a huge order foe export to Germany. It is from Sharma Exports managed by Babby Sharma. It's a high risk - if it's successful the Mehta family will be rich , if it fails, they would be on the road - bankrupt.

Abhi starts spending more and more time with Saakshi. Divya in the other town feels neglected. Neeraj suspects a relationship between Saakshi & Abhi. Divya over hears on the telephone that Saakshi is pregnant and the Dr. warns Abhi against abortion.

Divya's boss makes a pass at her. That night Saakshi telephones her - mentions Abhi and breakdown.

Saakshi dies in a quack abortion. Divya returns. Neeraj is upset - also Abhi for an explanation. He keeps quiet. Divya asks Abhi to get out of her life.

Feeling guilty, Neeraj arranges Divya's marriage with bobby Sharma who has loved Divya foe a long time. Abhi decides to leave India

On the right of Bobby - Divya's wedding Sangeet, Daadima (Abhi's grandmother) given him a kasam - wants to know all the facts since Abhi is also leaving in the hi9ght. Abhi tells - he was an innocent supporter of Saakshi - taking Divyas's place in her life. The baby is Bobby's. On the might of Saakshi's death, Abhi was with Bobby who threatened to ruin Neeraj if Abhi opened his mouth. Abhi loves his father more than his own self. To avoid his father from being ruined he is also sacrificing his love his like.

Daadima gets a heart attach. She breaks Abhi's kasam and tells Neeraj about his son's sacrifice.

Neeraj confronts Bobby in the presence of Divya and Abhi. For him his business money is nothing compared to these two. He drives away. Bobby brings Abhi & Divya together.
