Synopsis of Brahm-Chari DVD

Brahmchari (Shammi Kapoor), is a good-hearted but poor young man whose vocation in life is to give heart and home to a dozen orphans, whom he shelters in his home, which is named Brahmachari Ashram. One day Brahmachari saves a pretty young girl Sheetal (Rajshree) from committing suicide. Sheetal is brought to the Ashram, where she is happy to be surrounded by BrahmachariÕs kids. She tells her sad fate. Ravi (Pran) a wealthy young man whose father was her fatherÕs dearest friend, has jilted her. Their fathers had vowed that their children would be united in matrimony, but the young man has thrown her out ! Brahmachari then embarks on an intensive course to modernise Sheetal-make her a sophisticated society girl, because Ravi always has a soft corner for such girls and is at the moment, carrying on a torrid love-affair with Roopa (Mumtaz) whom he has promised to marry ! Sheetal now completely modernised, comes in touch with Ravi, who does not recognise her as the same girl he had jilted. But she recognises him for a despicable fellow and wishes only to avenge herself on him for the insult she had suffered at his hands. By now, Sheetal has developed sincere affection for Brahmachari, who poor fellow, is struggling against great odds to earn enough money in order to lift the mortgage from the house in which he and his children are living. When Sheetal insults Ravi and throws his engagement ring on his face, Ravi decides that he must marry her at all costs. Bribing Sheetal's uncle, Ravi succeeds in getting her removed forcebly from the Ashram. Then he goes ahead and persuades the man to whom the Ashram is mortgaged to auction it and dishouse Brahmachari as well as all the children. In order to save the house and the children Brahmachari consents to Ravi's marriage with Sheetal by giving her the impression that he is interested in another woman. But here fate plays her hand in the game and arranges matters in its own inexorable way making 'Brahmachari' a motion picture delight of a lifetime not only for teenagers and adults but for country full of kids as well.
